This lovely couple had their gorgeous black & white themed Christmas wedding on the 21st December in St. Joseph's Church, Cloughduv followed by celebrations in Fernhill. Watch out for Grace's dress change (both are to die for!). Grace & Peter's happiness on their wedding day was infectious and Grace tells us about their love story & wedding planning experience! 'We first met in January 2021 with a brief encounter in the CUH canteen. Peter did a bit of detective work and spotted that we had a mutual friend Anne, one of our beautiful bridesmaids. Peter happened to be working on the same medical team as Anne's now husband Conal and used it to his advantage. He started asking Conal a lot of questions about Grace all the while knowing it would get back to Anne and eventually back to Grace - which it did! Our first date was a coffee and walk along the Lee Fields as it was COVID times and the rest is history.'
Grace tells us how Peter proposed while they were on holiday, 'We arranged a big holiday to the Azores islands off Portugal in September 2022. It was our first big holiday and we were so excited. Peter proposed on the very first night on the bridge in Nordeste village. Thankfully Peter packed the ring in his hand luggage as the suitcases went missing until day five of our holiday. It was a trip of a lifetime!!'
We asked Grace if she could sum up their wedding, 'It was the most perfect day for us as a couple. All we hoped for was a day full of love, fun and laughter for all our family and friends. We achieved this and could not be happier!'
Grace told us the most important aspects of their wedding were, 'we wanted there to be plenty of everything for our guests and Fernhill made sure of this. Fernhill provided us with phenomenal food and a great drink selection delivered by professional and kind staff. We wanted to be present at each part of our wedding day. Our wish was to spend as much time as possible with our family and friends. We achieved this by minimising picture time after the ceremony and getting to our Fernhill reception early. We couldn't wait to meet and thank everyone for making our day so special. We were lucky enough to have most of our wedding photos at our home in Rathcullen before arriving at the reception which made them truly special to us.'
What made Fernhill ''the one''? 'One word - Ann. We had looked at a few venues and didn't walk away from any of those like we did with Fernhill. From the get go, Ann was efficient, professional, kind and a great listener. We knew we were in safe hands. Ann truly cared about making our wedding so special. We honestly felt like we were the only bride & groom getting married at Fernhill.'
Grace shared some advice she would give to future couples looking to book their special day at Fernhill;' Everything does work out in the end. Be present, enjoy the time leading up and during the day as it really does fly by. Rest assured, you are in safe hands when getting married in Fernhill. Everyone is still talking about how phenomenal the food was!'
Grace & Peter are heading away on honeymoon in April to Greece, Athens, Paros and Santorini - which sounds like a dream! We hope you enjoy every second of it!
Grace & Peter we wish you both every happiness for your future together & look forward to welcoming you back to Fernhill again soon.
