These college sweethearts were in the same class in UCC but it wasn't until the traditional '12 pubs of Christmas' night out that sparks flew & as Maeve tells us 'the rest is history'.
It was the end of a great year away for the couple, living and working in San Francisco, and they went skiing in Lake Tahoe. Brian took the route less travelled through some trees and Maeve reluctantly followed. Brian pretended to fall over and by the time Maeve got over to him he was down on one knee! What a surprise!
Maeve and Brian wanted a combination of a contemporary and traditional relaxed wedding. Maeve tells us 'the day felt so relaxed from start to finish, and I have Fernhill to thank for a lot of that. Everything was perfect from the reception in the gardens and marquee until the party came to an end two days later (after our Day 2 BBQ!).'
'Our priorities from the very beginning were for our friends and family to have the best craic possible and for everyone to feel relaxed! Our venue, food and music were also priorities (after the marriage part I guess!) Honestly, we knew Fernhill was the one for us the first time we came to see it. It was the perfect combination of an intimate country house with a gorgeous reception room and cool garden vibes.'
We asked Maeve what advice she would share with future couples planning their wedding. She told us' enjoy every minute and really try to be in the moment - it goes so so fast! You do not need to think about one single thing, Ann and all the staff in Fernhill have it covered, and it is seamless, so just relax and enjoy your day!'
After the wedding Maeve & Brian went to Parknasilla for a few days and then on to Dingle, 'it was so nice to completely switch off and relax in stunning Kerry'.
Maeve & Brian, we wish you both a lifetime of love and laughter and look forward to seeing you both again in the future.
