We love a good love story and Siobhan & Ambrose’s one is pretty unique! The couple met through Macra Na Feirme at a Macra National Conference. Siobhan tells us their ‘love then blossomed through many more Macra Na Feirme events throughout the country and events in our home town of Macroom’. This led to the lovely couple getting to travel all over the world before building their home together – sounds like a dream!
After 8 years of being together on Valentine’s Night Ambrose caught Siobhan completely off-guard at their home in Bawnmore. After Fair City had finished Ambrose disappeared outside but reappeared with chocolates and flowers and dropped to one knee while getting an engagement ring from his pocket. How sweet, you had us at chocolates & flowers!
‘Our wedding truly was the most amazing day of our lives; the sun was shining from the moment we woke up and everything just fell into place even better than we could ever have imagine. This was all thanks to our wonderful family, friends and staff at Fernhill House Hotel.’ Siobhan and Ambrose had their drinks reception in our garden marquee which allowed their guests to enjoy cocktails, canapes and music while the sun was shining. Their guests were then brought up to the main house where they enjoy a banqueting feast which was chosen especially by the couple. ‘The whole day felt like a magical dream that we did not want to end’, explained Siobhan.
‘The most important thing to us when planning our wedding was that everyone felt at home in the hotel that we were going to pick, a good meal and band. This is exactly what Fernhill House allowed us to do, they allowed us to make the hotel our own by placing pictures and signs around the hotel and accommodated all our family and friends in the hotel. Nothing we asked for was too much trouble.’
‘From the moment we walked into Fernhill House we immediately felt at home. We were met by a smile each time by the wedding co-ordinator Ann Cullinane and she immediately put us at ease. From that moment on we knew this would be the hotel that we were going to have our wedding reception in.’

The lovely couple jetted to Las Vegas, Miami and did a Western Caribbean Cruise on honeymoon, which sounds like the perfect way to relax and spend time together.
